Shaleen Sharma

Mr. Shaleen Sharma - Managing Director (GGCL), Chairman (GFSL)

Mr Shaleen Sharma holds an MBA from Lucknow and has almost 28 years of industrial marketing experience, the last 24 of which have been in natural gas marketing with major oil and gas companies of India.

He was involved in marketing natural gas for ONGC for 12 years, initially in the Upper Assam area and later in Gujarat. In 1996, he moved to GAIL and co-ordinated the negotiations and execution of agreements for purchase of Panna-Mukta, Tapti (PMT) gas. In April 1998, he was deputed to Petronet LNG Limited where he was actively associated in a bid process for procuring and finalising the LNG Sale Purchase Agreement for 7.5 mtpa with RasGas of Qatar. He has been with BG India for over eight years and has been associated with a variety of assignments including LNG marketing, representing BG on the Operator Board of the PMT Joint Venture. Since April 2005, he has been leading BG’s effort to market PMT gas directly to the identified buyers.

In June 2005, Mr Shaleen Sharma moved to Ahmedabad to head commercial activities of GGCL that includes gas sourcing, marketing, transmission and CNG. In July 2007 he assumed charge as the Managing Director of GGCL.
 

Sugata Sircar

Sugata Sircar, Director - Finance (GGCL), Non-Executive Director (GFSL)

He is a Chartered Accountant with 18 years of experience and has worked with companies like Britannia Industries Limited and Madura Coats Limited. His last employment was as the Country Financial Controller with Cabot India Limited, a subsidiary of Cabot Corp., USA. His areas of work include business planning and analysis, control processes, taxation, accounting, fund management, etc. He is currently working as Director in Gujarat Gas Company Limited.

In his current role as Director - Finance, he is responsible for the Finance and Business Strategy & Planning functions for Gujarat Gas, participating in strategic decision making, fund management, financial control functions, investor relations, Board responsibilities of GGCL and its subsidiary companies, corporate governance, etc. He is a non-executive Director of GFSL Board.
 

Sadhan Banerjee

Sadhan Banerjee, Director - Management Services (GGCL), Non-Executive Director (GFSL)

He has got 19 years of experience and had worked with Castrol India & ICI India in the areas of technical, project & operations, contracts & procurement and information technology including site works management. He also lead the national standard on City Gas Distribution (CGD) 220, 226. He has graduated in Mechanical Engineering and post-graduate diploma in Management.

He is currently working as Director in GGCL and is  heading Contracts & Procurement and Information Technology. He is a non-executive Director of GFSL Board.
 

David Brooks

David Brooks, Director - Technical

He is currently working as Technical Director, with responsibility for all engineering activities undertaken by GGCL, including construction, operations asset integrity, planning and design, Cogen and customer services.

David has more than 28 years of experience in the international utility industry, having worked for British Gas, Transco, Advantica and most recently for Hyder Consulting Middle East as Head of Infrastructure & Project Management.

In 1999 he was seconded to the National Joint Utilities Group, a UK NGO responsible for representing all the major utilities in developing UK street works policy, in conjunction with central and regional government. In 2005 he moved to Abu Dhabi in the UAE to manage a project to develop a wholly new city gas business on behalf of ADNOC the state oil company.
 
David is a Chartered Engineer and a member of the Institution of Gas Engineers. He has undertaken many roles including operations, maintenance, construction, Licence to Operate compliance, international consulting and major project management.
 

Rahul Bhatia

Rahul Bhatia, Director - Commercial

Rahul Bhatia, Director Commercial at Gujarat Gas Company Ltd., has about 15 years of experience in various industries in India.  After completing his Bachelor of Engineering (Instrumentation), from Poona University, Rahul did his Masters in Business Administration from Institute of Management Technology, Ghaziabad. Before joining Gujarat Gas, he worked with Schlumberger as their Business Manager – Electricity and has earlier worked with Siemens Metering Limited.

Rahul’s responsibilities include Gas Sourcing, Bulk sales Contracts, Industrial, Domestic and Commercial Retail customer segments, CNG, Legal/Commercial services and New Applications (technical development and commercialization).
 

L. Balasundaram

L. Balasundaram, Director - Human Resources and Administration 

Balasundaram is a HR professional with two decades of rich experience in the Oil & Gas Industry. He holds dual post graduate degrees Viz: MBA from Faculty of Management Studies, MS University, Baroda and MA (Social Work) with specialization in Industrial Relations & Personnel Management from Bishop Heber College, Trichy. He started his career as Management Trainee in Indian Oil Corporation in 1988 and after a fairly long innings joined Gujarat Gas Company Ltd. as “General Manager – Human Resources” in October 2005.

As a HR professional he believes in creating a positive culture in the organization where people utilize their potential and help build its intellectual capital. His areas of interest include Strategic HR Initiatives, Leadership Development, Talent Management, Change Management, Employee Engagement Initiatives etc. He has delivered several lectures / presentations at Institute of Management Nirma University, Ahmedabad; M S University, Baroda; Institute of Petroleum Management, Gandhinagar; Indian Society for Training and Development - Delhi Chapter; and National Oil & Gas HR Conference.
 

Priyaranjan Sekhon

Priyaranjan Sekhon - Legal Counsel

Priyaranjan Sekhon is Lead Counsel for the BG India asset and is presently seconded as Legal Counsel to Gujarat Gas Company Limited (GGCL). He is oil and gas lawyer qualified and enrolled as an Advocate in India and as a Solicitor in England & Wales and has over twelve years of experience having worked both in private practice and as an in-house lawyer.

He holds a B.A. LLB (Hons) degree from the National Law School of India University, Bangalore, as well as an LLM in Petroleum Laws & Policy and an MBA in Oil & Gas Management from the Centre for Energy, Petroleum & Mineral Law and Policy (CEPMLP), University of Dundee, Scotland, UK.
 

Himanshu Upadhyay

Himanshu Upadhyay, Director - Policy & Corporate Affairs

He has 30 years of experience in Banking and Oil & Gas Sector. After obtaining his Bachelor of Science degree, he pursued Master of Labour Welfare from Gujarat University. Prior to joining Gujarat Gas, Himanshu was holding senior position in HRM function with Bank of Baroda, a leading nationalized bank in India. Himanshu also holds a Diploma in Corporate Communication.
 
His responsibilities includes Government Relations, Media Relations, Advertising & Promotions, Corporate Social responsibilities and Event Management
