Material procurement is one of the most important links in Supply Chain Management. It provides impetus to the process of O&M, capital and projects of transmission and distribution of Natural Gas by constantly enhancing value creation.
Procurement calls for high value purchases, rate contracts, system development and implementation. It involves procurement policies and systems to ensure compliance. The entire set of functions, right from indents for material requirement to receipt of material and payment done to the vendors, is possible through SAP. GGCL uses innovative technology tools including e-auctions, technical qualification and high-tech system for tenders and notices.
The focus is to develop as well as retain such capable vendors who cost effectively offer quality supply with quantity on time. We have a separate vendor development department that deals with identification of alternative sources of supply with vendor registration process and vendor rating system based on the supply performance.
Contractors
Contracting is one of the major inputs in the execution of projects. The main areas of focus are developing and retaining capable contractors having concentrated focus on HSSE, quality and delivery on time. In Contract Management, the emphasis is on streamlining and standardizing the systems and procedures as also on capturing the best practices in market. Keeping the above mentioned goals in focus, GGCL imparts training to contract laborers to suit the requirements of the company.
The company has a dedicated cell located in Surat to identify sources for supporting the operations and upcoming projects, and to cater to the ever-growing requirements. Our offices are linked with a state-of-the-art SAP system. The entire Supply Chain Management functions right from indents for services required till commissioning and /or completion of projects, including e-auctions, executive reports etc. on technology oriented systems.
