Registration process:
GGCL has a well identified and defined process for reaching out to potential customers in addition to the direct enquiries for new connection. The following new scheme is being introduced as per new act enacted, which would regulate downstream business of Gas distribution under a City Gas Distribution (CGD). A regulator namely Petroleum & Natural Gas Regulatory Board (PNGRB) is appointed based in New Delhi.
Under the new booking scheme for a Single point Domestic connection in kitchen, customers will be required to pay;
-
Security deposit for equipment (“SD-E”) Rs. 5000/- + Security deposit for gas sales (“SD-G”) Rs. 1000/-.
-
For additional consumption points in kitchen or bathrooms a separate request would be considered and additional amount shall be required to be paid by the customers.
-
Last mile connectivity Charges (LMC) would be recovered from the customers from each bill offered to the customers.
-
Gas would be sold in Mmbtu and all the relevant information would be provided in the gas bill issued.
The customers applying for new connection are categorized into two types;
On-Line Customers:
The customers who live in High /Low rise apartments/Societies/Row houses/individual bungalows, where PNG underground PE line network is available; are referred to as “On-line/riser” customers.
Off-Line Customers:
The customers who live in High/Low rise apartments/Societies/Row houses/individual bungalows, where PNG underground PE line network is not available and shall be required to be extended/laid; are referred to as “Off-line/riser” customers.
In order to book customers belonging to these two categories, separate procedure and time lines are followed. Generally it is easier and fast to connect online customers as the main network is already available.
